Ok, does anyone have a thought on this one. Are domains generally considered a perpetuity, are domains going to generate revenue indefinitely??

Maybe not a perpetuity, but they are sure here to stay for a long time.

- As long as there is a navigation bar on our browsers
- As long as the less computer literate people represent the majority of the internet population
- As long as there is a keyboard

...they will continue to generate traffic and money

Do you think so?, I think that people will be far less likely to click a advertisement on a parked website in couple of years,

well parking evolves and landing pages look more like websites everyday! If they ever stopped clicking on ads, there is always redirection to relevant affiliate pages that are real websites

Parking pages will evolve with people. People probably do not even recognize parked pages today as they may have 1-2 years ago. The domain name system can't be replaced and there is not a better replacement for them...its comparable to replacing the "postal address system."

Almost all "websites" are basically like parking pages, information, pictures, hyperlinks...i.e. there are links on them and you click them to navigate...most people really don't know the difference, they just know they did'nt go where they thought they were going in the case of a typo..and usually will click something to try to get there..sometimes in the process they find something even better or more related to what their first intentions were! For type-ins I think most people realize they are going to some type of directory or "landing page" when they type-in something like CarInsuranceQuotes.com or Clothing.com ...they don't think it's owned by a certain company or brand...at least I never do.

I think younger people will be growing up and thinking these ads are normal, because they haven't known anything else.

Ofcourse parking pages will get better looking and more sophisticated, with text ads, video ads. The whole thing continues to evolve and lots of testing is being done to find out what works. We see ads everywhere else (tv, radio, magazines) why not the internet?

Yeah, probably, only time can tell, do you think that parking pages will turn to video advertisement?

Bottom line is this, domains are property and like real property they can and always will have a use. Some properties aren't used efficiently, some domains aren't used efficiently. Generating revenue with any property at times requires you change your methods for securing a sale or attracting attention but that same property can always generate revenue.
