Hello everyone,

I have bought a domain name from GoDaddy 1 year ago and this year my Domain name has been expired and I didn't notice that.
and when my domain name has expired someone purchased my domain name and used redirection to a porn site.
when Someone visits my website it automatically redirects to a porn site.

The domain is: toruinstitute.org
I tried to find who purchased this domain. But could not get any information about him.

Is there any way that I can get back my domain or stop those redirection?
We are a non-profit organization and it is ruining my company existing reputation.

I have contacted Godaddy but they refused to help. Please, help me! I am really in a very very big trouble now!

Unfortunately not. You don't own the domain anymore, they are redirecting to legal porn, and they are not using your name/trading on your goodwill anywhere on the site. I don't think there's anything you can do. However I hate this kind of thing when you are straight onto porn with no warning / 18+ page etc. Maybe you can find out where they're hosting and contact the hosting company. *edit* I see a redirection via godaddy so maybe try and contact them again - don't tell them you want the domain back as that will not happen nor is there any reason for them to do that. However you can point out that the domain is going straight to hardcore porn without an entry page and that you will take it up directly with publicinterestregistry.org. I can't believe that doesn't breach something in godaddys 'terms of service'. They are an awful gutter registrar though.

Thanks RobM for your reply. We have already purchased toruinstitute.com and uploaded our site in the new domain.
But our users don't know about that, and it is almost impossible to communicate the news to them.
They are visiting the previous domain, getting redirected to porn and rejecting us!
Most of the users are teenage boys and girls. You can understand how harmful it is for us!
"Toru Institute" is our identity and they are using that. There should be something we can do.
Can you please at least suggest what should we do now?

Try contacting:
[email protected]
and also again godaddy abuse - tell them you have also taken it up with the registry.
Point out that they are being compliant in falsely presenting minors *directly* with hardcore porn by refusing to address the issue.
You could also try and get the site delisted at google https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6332384
I would consult a solicitor in the domain field. I don't know if you could take out a UDRP.

You could also venture down the path of trying to buy it back.

Depending on the amount of traffic it is getting, maybe its a better deal for the current owner to accept 200$ or something for it than waiting for the porn affiliate checks to accumulate.

I have emailed the gmail address found in whois lookup. They replied that they want a price of 9800 USD. :(

Tell them you already bought the .com and have started using that. Your last and final offer is xxx$ (you decide what your limit is) and they will never get another offer for it again in the future since once you start using the .com you would have no interest in the .org and no other end users exist.

As I see it your two strongest cards are:
Porn affiliates make almost no money per visitor.
No other buyer exists for this domain.

= They must make a deal with you to make money.

This is really sad and gives the rest of us a bad name.

Update the URL in as many places as possible. Unfortunately, you may also have to contact GoDaddy and see if they can help you buy the domain back. Maybe the new owner will be reasonable.

Guys, thank you for your advice. I have tried everything, it seems that nothing will work. I offered them 200 USD. They did not agree. We have decided to move on. Now, please tell me how can I get all the previously indexed webpages removed from google search results?

I already messaged Google to reindex it as the .com. and the top search results for the term is now the linkedIn page instead of the old domain name. I think you can use Google Webmaster to get most of the rest bumped off the search results, and move to keep the seo going with the new site, to get it to replace the porn infested links. But as others said, try to also get the godaddy folks to stop the direct forwarding of the domain name as well as look into getting a lawyer if you feel you can win at WIPO.

I am having the same problem at the moment with one of my domains however I did renew but the registrar was having technical difficulties and never notified me the domain had failed to renew. Despite me paying and so far receiving no refund. Mine also was a teenage friendly site which is now being redirected to an adult site.

I am just interested is the gmail account address belong to thecloudcorp by any chance? As I have had the same offer of $9800 to get back the domain I should own and this also took place on the 8th of April when they acquired the domain if it happened to you on the same day you posted. I am currently trying to fight for the domain back through my provider, the registrar and raised a complaint with icann but so far awaiting any response.

This is not how the domain industry works. A domain is not owned - it is rented. If after a year the rent is not paid you don't have ownership rights. The same as not being able to claim you live in apartments you rented several years ago and moved out of.
