Domain stats?

Does anyone know approx. how many domains are actually live (hosted/developed) per tld?
Any source? Thanks.

Unfortunately that is not what I've been looking for.
I need the number of operational, working sites (not registered names) sorted by tld.

You can get the number of pages indexed by Google in a given TLD (which isn't the same as the number of *sites*, though) by using the Advanced Search, putting in the desired TLD in the field to restrict search by domain, and putting some random garbage in the "find sites that don't contain string" field.

I tried this before with most often used word "and" (this is a stop word, it must be preceded with + sign) and got almost 2,5 billion results:

However, when I limited the results for each tld I got some unreliable results: 11,600,000 for .com

6,040,000 for .net:

etc. Something is wrong there, although the results are still showing my suspicion (Google is biased!), but I want to be sure.

According to this page
http://www.whois.sc/internet-statistics/world-ip.html there are 23,642,469 hosted COM, NET, ORG, INFO, BIZ, US domains, which is more than I anticipated.
However I still miss key data: How many .coms .nets .orgs...?

I suspect that .orgs are at least 80% live, while .coms have the least ratio. Still digging...

Link from .com.net.org gives the total of 23 million hosted names (!!), unfortunately not divided per TLD.

That's useful but those numbers are registered domains not resolving sites.
