Hi,

I picked up Steampunk.org through Snapnames in July last year for $404. It was registered through MyDomain. It was definitely in my account in December 2012 as I have an email from MyDomain confirming that. Sometime after, it was transferred out to eNom without my permission.

SnapNames have said it's not their problem.

MyDomain have responded with the following pathetic response, which seems as though they didn't even read my support ticket:
Hello,

Your domain 'Steampunk.org' was registered with us but now it has successfully transferred away from us. Currently, your domain is registered through Enom. So, please contact your current registrar Enom or Registration Service Provider Namecheap.com regarding your domain.

If you have any further questions, please update the Support Console.

Sincerely,

Rylie Kramer
Domain Registrar Specialist

No response from [email protected] or another contact at eNom I was given by a friend.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have had multiple issues with MyDomain.com. It took me almost a month to get a whois issue resolved.
Their support is terrible.

Their response to a reported domain theft is woefully inadequate.

Was their any notification from Enom to approve the outgoing transfer?
Was their any notification from MyDomain.com to approve the outgoing transfer?

Both MyDomain.com and Enom should be involved her to research what happened. It is their responsibility. Anything less than that is not acceptable.

If neither of these registrars are going to take this seriously, I would file a complaint with ICANN.

Beachie,

I sent you a PM. I have some information that might help to figure out what went on here.

After looking at the whois history in detail, MyDomain.com has some serious explaining to do here.

Thanks Brad, that's been really helpful. Yes, it seems that MyDomain owe me more than the cut and paste response I've received from them so far.

No, nothing from either registrar. The first I knew of it was logging in to my account to change the DNS and finding it was gone.

Just an update - MyDomain have actually deleted my support ticket, unanswered. Not just closed it, but removed it completely. For the record, SnapNames have been helpful and are investigating - presumably some of my winning bid was paid to MyDomain. I can only guess that SnapNames would be concerned that their "partner" has essentially handed an expired domain back to the original registrant after they were paid a considerable fee to auction it at SnapNames. Very concerning.
