Domainer resources not making the grade

As I mentioned in one of my posts from another thread "What the domain industry is missing", one of the things needed in this industry is reliable resources.

There seems to be a few large sites that are often used by domainers that offer modest resources.

There are smaller sites that provide more of a wealth of resources, that is needed every day for domain research. These few sites have not been reliable on a day to day basis. One of the sites I have used "dots" has been offline for months and months due to a server crash. This paid site has been a constant resource but is now useless...

Even those with programming knowledge, there is too much data to process nowadays without any major tools. This industry needs more trusted sources.

My favorite is the the self proclaimed authors that write blogs and slam people and good companies without any sort of experience or certification and think because they have a domain they are automatically authors.

That said, I agree the industry needs more credibility with legitimate writings instead of the scribbles in some wanna bees scratchpad.

I agree - there are a lot of people talking but it is very opinionated and erratic (at best). There is no definite news source that is consistently reliable for domaining.

(Maybe this would be another good avenue for DNF to get involved with?)

Specifically informational resources, data feeds, research tools. This also includes news sites etc...
