Alot of people say domain reselling ( not ppc e.t.c )

can not be done fulltime.

Anyone here make a fulltime living purely from reselling names within a short period of time?

No it's not a trick question, why would you imply it is?

not sure why that would be a trick question!! I don't personally have domaining as a full time occupation, partly because i have other commitments, and mainly i wouldn't make anywhere near enough money to survive on domain revenue! But i suppose it's like any hobby or part time occupation... if you're good enough at it, you can make it work for you as a profession

It depends.
How much money can you use for this purpose?
How much do you know about domain buying and selling?

Some domainer not only making a living, but, making very good living from domaining.
Many domainers lose their shirts plus their underwear :D

domain reselling / flipping for a living is a very tough game. from what i've seen, the only people that can make a good living doing it deal in the high end expensive names. you'll just be spinning your wheels for a few bucks trying to spin low value domain names.

with domain reselling / flipping, you're only as good as your last sale. and just because you make one good sale one week, that does not mean you're going to make a good sale the next week. you're essentially always hunting and foraging for food.

domain development - actually building an asset that provides recurring "annuity" type revenue is the way to go. if you make $500 in one week on PPC revenue, chances are pretty high that you'll make approximately $500 the next week in PPC revenue - without spinning your wheels cold calling / sending emails / dealing with deadbeat buyers / dealing with deadbeat sellers / etc.

in summary, if you deal in high value names, domain reselling / flipping can work, but otherwise, keep your day job.

It can be done if you dont mind selling domains from min $60-$250 a day and that is if your buying your domains for no less then say $15 a pop

The way I figure it is to pay all my bills (including rent/mortgage) about $3000 a month is ideal pushing for $4000

So to do this on a weekly basis assume you make $200 a day. Now this could range from 1 domain sold for $200 or 4 sold at $50 a pop etc. No matter how many you sell as long as its $200 a day Monday - Friday. This would be $1000 a week x3 for $3000 a month.

PERFECT amount for me as all bils would be paid + extra money for whatever. So I say yes it can be done and this is what im pushing for as side money + my FT job!

It can be done fulltime, like anything else but from my experience with real people it's extremely rare in the domain industry. That is earning a living on flipping alone.

can be done either with 1-2 large sales or small volume sales.

I think it is possible just to live on full time domaining. I have made mid xx,xxx over past 1 year or so. But my full time job makes me xxx,xxx range and could not afford to quit it.

Plus you are not sure whether you will be ok in next month from domain sales.

Unless you know exactly what you're doing, treat it as you would the stock market. I make good money out of it because I offer secondary services -- carve yourself a niche and stick to it -- my 2c.

Aloha Adam,

I started out selling names, but then got into PPC. Why not do PPC until you sell the names. Should be NO PROBLEM making a living if you do it right. I do VERY WELL. I started out mostly selling, but when I saw the income potential in PPC, I pretty much stopped selling my names. I sell on the rare occasion these days. Just something to think about.
