Hi Everyone,
I thought I would address a few posts about domain parking in March/April. The weather's getting nicer and the days longer. What does this mean for those of us in the domain parking industry? For a couple of weeks, people spend less time at their computers.
This really isn't just a Sedo phenomenon. I think everyone enjoys November and December because people typically stay indoors and shop for holiday presents. This is all well and good for those of you with parked domains, as the advertisers generally pay more during that time (depending on what sort of domain you have and which links appear on your parked pages). However, in the spring, the advertisers realize that not as many people are shopping, thus, lower PPC across the industry.
However, those who surf will come back! Travel season is rapidly approaching, so those with hotel/flight/car rental domains will possibly see an increase in earnings-per-click. Those who have entire portfolios dedicated to winter coats will probably see a drop in visitors, clicks and earnings per click.
This is the cycle of the domain industry. If any of you have specific questions on trends for particular domains, don't hesitate to send your account manager an email. You can also send me a PM and I'd be happy to discuss how your domains are performing and what we can do to max their performance!
