Conscious plan? Or wander in here like I did a couple of months ago and 50 days later, you look at you registrar account and find you have 30+ domains?

Went from 5-6 to 30 REAl Fast in my case.

so how many get...

traffic
revenue
or received any offers

have you sold a domain yet

as this seems like the time to ask yourself these questions, before you register more names :)

Some traffic. Somewhat generic and developable. A few, I had just grabbed extensions when i got the dot-coms. Those, I will let go or maybe try to sell. Not too particular. I can hold all of them for years if I want.

Tinner,

I never had a plan but just started picking things up and learning. Today i have more of a plan. One thing i will say - if the name doesn't have traffic....

Could someone build a business out of it?

If you met someone at a party and they told you the web address would you say "that is stupid?"

Would you click on the url in a search listing?

go over to the sales section and you will see tons of domains for sale that don't meet the above criteria. There are a lot of names like that being registered every day. If it sounds a little clunky, it probably is a little clunky.

I try to stay away from clunky.

Not tinner666 is my 'Business' handle and clunky, but it and my company names of albertsroofing, rentAroofer, all bring me traffic.

Frank's Sauces is developed, but I've put sales on hold.

SauceLinks is getting some traffic, so I feel it's OK.

Now, I have funny stuff like ezej which sure is close to the TM EasyJet Co. and other things. Cp-1 and CP-2 seem really good for Credit Proessing sites.

I'm thinking about GD's WW plan, so I got DomainSalesZone, (and the singular version).
Nothing clinkier than that.
So, what do you think?

Tinner,

One suggestion - spend a few bucks and get a web site without ads on it. makes things look much more professional - in all honesty, I would never buy from a website with ads on it like that.

I use e3 servers - unlimited domains (websites) hosted for $19 per month

Yeah, I hear that a lot. But nothing but 'services' for sale at this time, and doing well.

Besides, I spent our money this year fighting cancer and have limited funds at the moment. All money is going to 'Previously Spent' folder.

fair enough, but I probably wouldn't buy services from your site either :)

Lol, domaining can easily be like that at times!

I don't set myself limits when buying domains, although I do set myself targets (e.g. Get up to a domaining portfolio worth x etc).
