When a currency is weak or at risk that is typically a good time to invest in commodities; gold, oil, avocados...whatever. Is it safe to assume domains can be considered a commodity in this regard?

For instance, one of the reasons the price of gas has been rising so much is that it is priced in dollars, and the dollar has been crashing.

If the dollar continues to crash will the value of domains crash with it, or will they go up in value to compensate for the value of the crashing dollar?

If the dollar continues to crash is better for the European buyer :)

RareIQ...I think they are talking currency and investing in domains to hold value ... not extentions.

Weakness of the dollar, will help true blue chip domains appreciate in value. It will continue to be incumbent upon holders of certain blue chip domains to develop and unlock the value in order to justify high asking price - otherwise, ridiculous asking prices will continue to be unrealized

The day of the "greater fool" theory of selling domains is coming to an end
