I'm curious - how did you get the search term " site:.biz -1234blahblahblah?" It seems to have done the job of pulling up all of the .biz sites. How did you know to use that particular search term?

Psst... Don't tell anyone this but .. (izopod looks back over shoulders to see if anyone is coming) Sex sells well on the internet.

Jokes aside, I've noticed this too with .biz. I'm guessing why it's become a haven for porn sites is that most of the "good" sex names in the dot com space have been taken.

Hi hunter,

site:.biz -1234blahblahblah is not a magic term, it simply returns all the .biz pages which do not contain the word '1234blahblahblah'. Since '1234blahblahblah' does not appear on any page this search returns all .biz pages (in theory, but it seems that the algorithm is not 100% precise).
Instead of '1234blahblahblah' you can use any gibberish combination of letters and numbers which do not appear on any page.

I agree that .biz sounds more naughty than .info, but if more than 50% of the .biz pages are adult related... Wouldn't this hurt Neulevels ambition to make .biz the first choice for serious business owners?

If true, I don't think so. Business is business, and "sex" is the biggest business on the Net, so it would follow suit. That a large percentage of commerce on the Internet is somehow involved in the adult industry doesn't make the Internet synonymous with sex... at least to most folks. The most it amounts to is the offhand joke or two.

I think .INFO doesn't seem like a natural "entertainment" destination, no matter how you look at it.

I'm still annoyed that I set my mother up with an AOL account, and within days, even without so much as "journeying on to the World Wide Web", she's getting e-mail about porn. Sigh. Whatcha gonna due... (that's a rhetorical question). :)
