Reg fee...am I missing something here? Since when has "dot" become a valuable and recognized prefix?

I'm with alldig on this one; although I am still very much a newbie and thought I was wrong again :D

Not sure about valuable, but it seems to become recognized since ICANN acredited registrars are using it like Dotster, DotForce, DotRegistrar/DotRegister.

DotNames.Com is as good as any of those and would also make a decent registrar name. It sounds better than some of these goofy names other registrars have been choosing, like Do-dora, Godaddy, 007names, wildwestdomains. :dead:

I'll appraise in at $200 reseller / $1000-2000 retail, and possibly much more if selling to a prospective ICANN acredited registrar.

Very good and brandable name indeed. If you could market it to the big guys (who are looking at becoming accredited registrars), you'll probably get thousands. (But then that takes time.)

Maybe a couple hundred, if you are lucky and find a domain dealer with money to burn. Everything else seems overly optimistic.

The fact that GoDaddy, etc. can sell names shows that you don't need a URL with "name" in it to sell domains, and, in fact, are probably better off without it, since it sounds horribly generic for a registrar. For a reseller, sure, but then that's where the maximum of a couple hundred comes in.

"Dotster" at least sounds like a name. "Dotnames.com" sounds like people should be expecting to register *.names.com domains.

Just IMHO.

Excellent name for the Domain industry. One of the better names to hit the appraisal forum in a few days. Sellable now up to 3K, possibly $5K, and could command much more in time. Develop it, register with the search engines, and enjoy. I have DotRealty.com so I'll be interested in seeing you do well.

Should be able to sell for 3-5 K . Motivated buyer may pay more.
