Dotster has posted their latest letter to ICANN, dated April 9, 2003, on their website at:

http://www.dotster.com/common/content/wls/index.php
http://www.dotster.com/common/content/wls/wlsltr.pdf

ICANN has failed to even post it at:

http://www.icann.org/correspondence/

nor ICANN's response, if any. Not good for transparency.

Dotster and the consensus majority of other market participants (as shown in the Name Council's consensus rejection of the WLS proposal) have grave concerns over WLS, and its impact on consumer choice, registrar innovation and competition. Dotster's Independent Review Request and Reconsideration Requests, dated September 2002, have received no response, even though they have a contractual relationship with ICANN. It would be common courtesy for ICANN to have made some response. Good faith would require it, especially in an open and transparent ICANN.

It will be interesting to see if ICANN will answer even the most basic questions, such as:

1. Why hasn't ICANN taken action nor responded to the aforementioned requests?

2. By what date will action be taken on those requests?

Good point!

ICANN along with NetSol are trying to scam the whole industry.
Hope it doesn't happen. Even if it does, serious law suits will fallow, thought.

I don't think courts are going to give ANY injuctions based upon the fact that ICANN approved it to begin with.

Check out the following website:
Open Secrets

Then type in VERISIGN in individual donor to see recent contributions they have made. Microsoft is interesting also.

The fact that Verisign tried to move it through on a "trial basis" makes people think "oh well if it doesn't work we can just revert back". Bullcrap! Get ready to be spoon fed and bend over while you are at it. :dead:

"The second round of ICANN meetings in 2003 will be held 22-26 June in Montréal, Canada. The meetings are free to attend, and open to any interested person. ICANN encourages broad participation in its bottom-up consensus-development process. You can take part in these meetings by attending in person, by taking part in the webcast and remote participation opportunities, and/or by joining one of the various ICANN-related mailing lists."

Anyone who is adamently against the WLS should consider showing up at this meeting.
