Does anyone know how does work the dropping system for .ca? Is there a REDEMPTION GRACE PERIOD or nothing at all?

And how long after the expiry date , the original registrant can renew a domain?

Thank you very much :)

There is a 30 day suspension period and it can be renewed or transferred anytime within that 30 days. After that it drops.

But you have to be a canadian resident to own .ca

hi, thanks , I know the restrictions but I`d like to know about the process.

Can you give me an example?

example.ca expires today then what does happen?

after 30 days

after 60 days

and when does it drop?

Thanks

30 days as I said. After that it goes into TBR status and goes into the next wednesday drop. I believe the cutoff is sunday each week for the following wed. So the list you get monday shouldn't update anymore.

I thought you mean 30 days after the first 30 days of expiration status like for .com :

domain expiry date ---->30 days in expired status-----> 30 in redemption status ----> 5 days in pending delete status ---- DROP.

So you`re saying that for .ca is just between 30 and 37 days instead of 65 like for .com?

Thanks again :)

Just plain 30. Stop trying to complicate it ...this isn't the com world:lol:

Once it hits tbr (TO BE RELEASED) status 30 days after expiry it can't be renewed or retrieved even if it's a mistake. And it will be dropping either in the following wed drop or the wed after depending when it expired. So I guess that would total anything from 4 days to 11 days or so.

OK! Thank you very much, now it`s clear :)

I`ll just have to find a legal way on how to reg some .ca which is not the easiest thing.
