When trying to register an expired domain name what is the best time to try. I heard 630 am is when they drop, I have also heard it is now 2 pm.

Does anyone know which one.

Also , Is trying to register the name the best way of checking if it has dropped.

thanks.

630 is the old time.

2pm is the "new" time.

This is for NSI names of course.

NSI is for names regisered at NetworkSolutions.

There are a ton of other registrars, including:

eNom
OpenSRS
BulkRegister
Regsiter.com
DotRegistrar
GoDaddy

I do not know drop times for the others.

When they drop they go back to the "pool" and are available for registration from any registrar.

Isn't London time AHEAD of our U.S. time? Hmmm ... well, it seems you might then get several hours head-start on us when the drops occur! Yes? Wow! Good for you ... Good Luck.

PS. Yes, that is a trick question. ;)
