Blame Kim, he and kjel got to talking and came up with the idea.
We now monitor the snaps that are dropped. If it is in our db (currently only in pending delete) we'll pick it up.
It's a good service in that:
It's our capital tied up not yours
We get access to all of snaps registrars and our own for the domain
I doubt if many of you could monitor their DB 24 hours a day
On the negative side they have some registrars that won't transfer names without notarized letters and a $35 fee. A problem we haven't been able to solve. We've been setting the nameservers up for the clients and will transfer at our expense at the end of 60 days to a more "intelligent" registrar.
But please note it only accounts for maybe a domain or two a day. It isn't a major part of our catches.
