Just read Tues 6-15-04 Arizona Republic with a big article (written by an Arizona Republic Reporter Jane Larson, front-page Business Section) titled "Domain name game heats up" and talking about how the 2 largest registrars are both located in AZ, Network Solutions in Phoenix and GoDaddy in Scottsdale.

In the article I was pleasantly surprised to read 5 important paragraphs referring to and quoting Ron Jackson and DNJ in which Duke talks about the 'terrific rebound' and refers to both large sales and more common sales in the range of $300 to $1500 each.

Congrats Duke, you are sure superb at getting well deserved press coverage.

I am glad Duke is getting some credit for his work.

Duke spends a lot of hours EACH week keeping up with the
domain news and domain sales for that week.
So, he can publish it on his website.

And, thank you to RealNames for bringing us this article.

Duke took a couple days off. The first time in 2 years.
He is looking at colleges with his daughter.
(I hope he doesn't mind that I said that.)

So, that is why he hasn't responded.

He told me last night that the reporter called the other day as he was
walking out the door.

Guess where he is today. Duke University. Seriously!!

Oh No! There is still time to save her. Take her 15 minutes down the road. You won't regret it!

Go Heels!

Duke knows Media - Great voice for the industry!!! We should all be very thankful that we have his help and voice at DNJOURNAL.COM - It takes him hundreds of hours to maintain the site every month , do interviews and gather information. There is nothing simple about the publishing business. I would suggest that we all place an Ad on his site to help with the costs and - - Give us all a great deal of exposure - ( or just send him a pay pal donation) I am going to send him a new AD today. Surely the best marketing buy in our industry.... Steve

Hey guys - thanks for all of your kind words! I just got back from a weeklong vacation last night (first one in 2 years) so haven't been around the past few days. The Arizona Republic is a major newspaper so the exposure was very welcome (as was the New York Times article that quoted us earlier this year). Some of the quotes were not things I said but things the reporter picked up from the site then attributed to me in the form of a quote. I obviously knew the casino.com sale was bigger than the men.com sale since we ran a headline story about it (http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/domainsales11_04_03.htm). Nothing to quibble about though as articles like that continue to raise DNJournal's profile.

I am even more gratified by the support we are getting from inside the industry. We now have a waiting list for the prime display advertising positions throughout the site. Most advertisers keep renewing the spots they have and tell me they are vey happy with the response they are getting. With that support and the access we now have to the major players and companies in the industry the doors are open to produce bigger and better coverage. That is the most exciting thing to me. We've come a long way in a year and a half, but I know the site can continue to grow and improve in the months ahead. Of course it never would have gotten off the ground if you guys didn't visit and read it regularly, so sincere thanks to all of you!
