Its a very smart move passing on the bid. I would try to sell it privately to Sony or Amazon.com

cd is no doubt a gem.

But as for the music industry, this may be passing.

It appears that everything is moving very quickly to streaming content. Tough time even for the music industry and cd market.

Not to mention the overall jitters of the current global economy.

It will be hard to sell now, since Toshiba will stop HD DVD and that favors to Sony blu-ray. Sell it now while still hot.

If DVD's can manage to stay around a couple more years, it may still be marketable and profitable. But you are correct...timing the sale would be crucial. It would be like selling vhs.com with a reserve of $50K. Is it any wonder it did not sell?

When Mark McGwire broke the record of HR's, his rookie cards could easily bring 450 bucks. Today, perhaps 20-25.

The point being I think it would have been time to let VHS go for what it could have gotten vs. what it once was.
