And they don't make it easy for me to let them know.
I can't pay for an auction with Paypal. When I click to pay, I enter my Paypal user name and password and I get sent to Paypal and Paypal says "Please try again".

When I try to figure out how to get them to solve this they force me to go through their question system.

I tried different things some of them:

Which of the following best matches your question?

fix your stupid site

Their response: Can I include links in my listing?

real person

Their response: What are the rules on counterfeit items?

Then I put "contact phone number" and thought I was getting somewhere. They came back with:

Here's some information about: Contacting eBay Customer Support
Members can reach us by email, phone, and live chat.

Before we get started, we need to know something about the type of issue you're experiencing. That way, we can recommend the best way to contact us and put you in touch with the agent who can best answer your question.

To get started, please use the Ask another question box below to tell us about your issue.

I'm back to the same stupid question box.

Below that:

Or try these related topics:

*
Contacting Customer Support
*
How do I contact Customer Support by eMail, Live Help or phone?
*
How can I contact PayPal Customer Service?

Click on those and I end up right back to the same question box with a picture of a smiling girl wearing a headset.

Then I figure out to click "I think someone has used my account" Then I get a pin number and a phone number to call.
I call and go through a long menu. When I finally get a real person all I hear is "Thank" and the line goes dead.

These big companies want computers to do everything including customer support.

I'm trying to pay with Paypal. I tried 2 different browsers. It might be because I'm using a security key.

paypal been working for me all day... both with sending and receiving for auctions on egay.. occasionally i get customers that get the "try again" message then it ends up working a couple hours or day later. to get an ebay PIN i think you need to be a powerseller... call paypal instead since thats where the problem is happening..login to paypal then click Help > Contact us by phone or email > Call us

update: just got paid again like 1 minute ago... maybe time to upgrade to windows 98? ;)

Finally solved the problem. Seems Ebay logged the auction into Paypal using my Ebay email address. I don't use the same email address for Paypal. About a year or so ago someone tried to sign up for a Paypal account with that email address. I had to retrieve the password, login through Ebay like I was paying for the auction. Then log out. Then pay again using my regular Paypal account.
