Not I. There were a few pretty big bids!
Scarymovies.com $5001
Lisa.net $5000
Mode.net $3533
lure.com $3333
Hotmall.com $3800
Fasa.com $3501
Baguette.com $2001
EXY.com $1140
Looks like the only one of these they got was Lisa.net.

I had to drop out of Lure.com to chase another one but that would ahve been a steal if they ahd gotten it.

Being a horror movie fan myself, ScaryMovies.com is a very good name. Whoever got it must be a lucky guy/girl right now.

Although it is a common term, one who is afraid of lawyers might hand over the domain to Dimension entertainment (production of Scary Movie)

They would never be able to take that name if you were willing to fight.

Correct, i was saying, one who was afraid of lawyers and did not know how easily they could defend themselves.

It was a website for fans of "scary movies". Not sure how long the site was up but they would probably have a good case if they received a C&D letter.
I would take the chance as it is a really good name.

True. It seems some companies will go after any domain related to their business just to see if they might get it.

yes!

Sometimes what you hear is disgusting on what some companies go after! I think the ebay going after "bay" in some instances is a little much but some go after things that barely relate to thier name.

And whats worse, when they are fake C&Ds trying to trick the people who do not know about Domain TM infringment stuff.

Figures. No contact info for efriends.com yet at namesdirect. Dropped two days ago and was won at NW. SO either somebody placed a phony bid or it's taking time to get paid by the winning bidder. How can somebody place a phony $2500 bid though? Or could be somebody haviung second thoughts I suppose.

Yes, I really wanted lure.com and lisa.net, but things did not go so well for me either on those two.

I know we're trying to keep to the topic, but I do have to say:

>> Although it is a common term, one who is afraid of
>> lawyers might hand over the domain to Dimension
>> entertainment (production of Scary Movie)

Was the movie good enough to have laywers?

Still no contact info after 5 days. Hmmmm. Wonder if namewinner won this for themselves. When will they be auctioning the names that don't get paid for? Will they email everybody (customers) with that info?
