I took a snapshot of the auction seconds before the scheduled close so apart from the 6 or 7 extended ones this shows all the other results
(I like to have a record - sorry if this is available elsewhere I do not know)

http://fworld.net/sedo.2008-02-28.html

the domain link shows the history in most cases

(anyone know how to get rid of the ... cropping?)

HI

Wonder if the buyer is going to build a website on Eggs or something else. LOL

Thanks

I was the one bidding on this.

In the end I pulled out after 110k.

The problem is you could ask yourself that all the way up the to 110 and that's wha gets people carried away in auctions.

I went beyond what I expected to go so I pulled the plug, wasn't easy, but I did. lol

Ah, OK. Just for curiosity, what was your initial stopping point?

I have eyeballed that domain in sedo for around a year, it's been sitting there taking offers for a long time, a little like thin.com that is also sitting there.

Do you think type-in traffic is relevant to this though?

When you can afford that much on a domain, type in traffic is irrelevant (to a point). At 100K+, you can either afford a good SEO firm or you are already good at it and will hit the top of the search engines quickly.

I can imagine that it would be suitable for a company producing/selling eggs, or a new product/service called "eggs". For a fertility clinic, it's an interesting and funny idea, but I wouldn't expect a lot of relevant traffic. But if the clinic can afford (e.g. as a second domain), why not...

SEO/SEM is all about generating targeted traffic.

I'm sure alot of Canadian Typo Traffic comes from the regular ads on TV for eggs.ca

eggs.ca spend alot in media (have for years), might have been a good end-user.

I'm not in the market for eggs .com but 80k is very low DCG.
