This one is actual rather funny. I got an email from "DomainNotice" telling me that I need to register one of my domains to "search engine". They're going to charge $75 a year (plus some discounts) or else my site will not be registered with "search engine". I can C&P the email later, too early now and my name, address, email, and the domain are plastered all over it.

Hmm, couldn't I do this for free myself and as far as I know, the submission does not expire (so why $75 a year?). They're also going after the impulsive - only givimg me a day to respond to it.

Also - the domain in question is just a forwarder to a local NPO. Submitting it to search engines will not help at all.

Sheesh, makes me think why I'm so ethical when it comes to things? I could be raking it in! $200 for a 5 year registration for something that takes 10 seconds to set up (which technically you don't even need to do!).

Wow, they really hope to find some newbies that will swallow this bait. What a loser company.

Too bad the people who fall for things like this have never heard of SEO.

I can see a small charge ($25-$100 depending on what else was done) if it included submissions, a site map (for you to upload to the site) and a submission to other search engines (Yahoo, etc..) and maybe some SEO advice (SEO Al-in-one pack for WP blogs for example, advice on a AdSense setup, etc..).

Go to rover-host.com, turns out to be "Anonymous Hosting"

Go figure :)

I like how they all claim to be "Your Final Notice" Let's hope so! :)

I got 6 or 7 more today. time to shoot out some emails to some of my clients.

Edit: Something odd - most of them are for domains that I just use a forwarders. Silly scammers. :D

They're doing one hell of a harvest - I just realized that all of them are in alphabetical order. Time to fight back?

Their site is parked, too, though Sedo. :)

Anyone know of any fax-spam services? *snicker*

Edit#2 - Right now they're only .org domains.

Yeah, it's not ending. I've gotten a few more for domains, in alphabetical order.

I've sent out an email to some of my clients and former clients, posted it on my blogs and a few other forums.

Any good anonymous fax sites out here? How many thousands of faxes saying "F U" would it take to stop them?

Or just fax spam services - insurance companies love to spam though faxes - and mortgage companies!
