Hello,

Recently my partner received an email from a guy regarding the domains. The guy said he was interested in some of them. At this point I must say, that the guy did not tell to my partner whether he is interested in buying them or in something else. That was no wonder for my partner as he had his domains parked at Namedrive and anybody could contact him regarding the domains.

My partner gave him the complete list of all names he had got and in a week the guy replied. His reply was kind of odd - he asked my partner to change my nameservers to Sitelaucher's. In all my partners’ questions what could it be for he just said - "In order for me to test them". Also he said that he will give my partner 90% of revenue and he is not interested in buying the domains. That's all about him.

So now I have several questions to you:
1. Is it common in domain business to advertise yourself (Sitelaucher in this case) in such strange way?
2. What should be my partner's actions now? As he did not tell anything about himself: just "I am interested in your domains" and "You must change the nameservers in order to test your domains"

I had some thoughts, that he is advertising his business that way, but it seems to be not the right one as he came out of nowhere, told nothing about himself and asking for some certain actions from our side.

What do you think about it?

I got the same solicitation, first he offered to buy them, then later offered his parking solution. I politely declined and haven't heard back.

Tell him to send you a list of all his domains, add them to your Namedrive account, have him change his nameservers to ns1.fastpark.net & ns2.fastpark.net and you will send him 90% of the revenue.

Sitelaucher or SiteLauncher?
Good one :eek:k: SiteLauncher

Simple and clever at the same time. Thanks.

So what is the point of all this 90% revenue thing? Just to share your money with the guy you do not know?

other parking companies do these sorts of things as well. I even got an email from one of the bigger companies saying that a client was interested in a domain of mine and as well please try our parking solution again. never heard back about the domain.

I recall Evan B. I don't really have anything against him, I just remember in the early days how he pleaded with me to move my names over to sitelauncher. I did and found his service to be OK, but I enjoy moving my names around to test them at other places from time to time. He wanted nothing to do with that. He grew very frustrated with me and eventually closed my account. I can only assume he wants people to stick with him so they don't mess up his nice residual income.

The guy's obviously made some good money by seeking out domain owners and "befriending" them to try and keep them at his service. He's been at it for quite a while. I have no idea why he'd be taking this new "let me test your domains" approach though. I've never known him to be a larger buyer of domains.

I don't like it. (Potential) business partners should tell you what they want and not use such tricks...

I know Evan B. from a domain list mailer he sends out to me every once in awhile. He asked me if he could I said, "sure."

He has never solicited me about my domains, but thats probably because they suck.
