5-10 years ago it was easy to build traffic (without spamming), and click rate and income per click were high.
Now creating search engine traffic is very difficult even for quality sites, unless it is already a corporate site, click rate is very low, income per click which was about 10 cents, sometimes even 10 dollars, is now $ 0 or 0,01. It seems impossible to create some site on a top keyword domain and add average quality content to earn ppc income more than hosting cost. Is there a scam here, or is economy so bad and there is no company willing to pay more than a few cents for a click............This might be a big global game, screw small and middle guys. No more ppc income from sites. No more selling of anything. Only amazon, facebook, zillow will sell something.......For example a sedo click is worth less than 1 cents. 1000 visits, 10 clicks, 1 cents of income.
......Maybe not content, but traffic source is playing the highest role now, is this true?.. If ppc is a very bad way to monetize a site, is there a better way, like internet royalites... We plan to build major global site which will be monetized with ads, but if ads are not paying, and are unlikely to cover fraction of hosting cost, there is no reason to start.

Are you using Adsense? What kind of sites are you putting these pay per click ads on? I think that would help.

Also, affiliate marketing/clickbank and CPA is worth looking into.

Currently Chitika. There is an unfair adsense ban. But Sedo parking ads are also google ads and they pay zero or near zero. So maybe it is impossible to make good money with ppc, and you need to be on wallst to earn ppc income.

perhaps the type/category/quality or lack thereof... of your domains, does not pull advertisers who are willing to pay much for your traffic.

I have quite a few names at sedo and those that get clicks, pay more than $0.01 per.

imo...

Sedo PPC pays zero because that's what they've chosen to give you. Try Domain Name Sales, you'll get roughly 70% of the PPC and a great platform to sell domains.

Parking pays very well with the right names.
