Hello,
I am thinking of bidding for an eNom $6.95 retail account that I saw for auction on eBay, but I just wanted to run it past you guys to check that I'm not getting ripped off.

The auction details are as follows:
---

This auction is for an eNom retail account
with extra discounted prices for many domains.

TLD Registration Renewal Transfer
.com $6.95 $6.95 $6.95
.net $6.95 $6.95 $6.95
.org $6.95 $6.95 $6.95
.info $6.95 $6.95 $6.95
.biz $6.95 $6.95 $6.95
.us $6.95 $6.95 $6.95
.name $6.95 $6.95 N/A

There are two kinds of eNom accounts. The reseller one requires a $100 minimum deposit to be made when using a credit card or PayPal. This, the retail account, lets you pay for one domain at a time on a credit card or PayPal, without deposit.

This is a full eNom account with nameservers!

---

Does that sound like it's geniune, or a scam? Can someone that has an eNom $6.95 retail account confirm that these details are correct?

Thanks for your time and input...

Neil

I have never heard of a $6.95 retail account and it doesn't sound right to me as the whole idea of a $6.95 price is that it is pre-paid.
I cannot guarantee that there isn't such a thing but I would be very cautious and be certain before you buy.

I cant even set a reseller account for lower than 7.95.

Usually only reseller account are 6.95, and only with minimum $100 refills, not pay once per domain at that rate.
Something sounds wrong.

That's kind of what I suspected, which is why I thought I'd run it past you guys first!

So basically, (and correct me if I'm wrong), there are $6.95, $7.95 and $8.95 reseller accounts. The $8.95's are generally free, the $7.95's go for around $30-$50, and the $6.95's are very rare and bloody expensive! Is that about right?

It is possible to get a retail account but these will generally be under a $6.95 reseller account and will price the domains at min $8.99.

$6.95 enom reseller accounts sell for $100-$200 throughout the forums and ebay as well.. etp's that held enom accounts prior to a policy change around 2 years ago i believe can still create sub-reseller accounts which enjoy $6.95 registration/renewal/transfer rates.. however this sub-reseller accounts can't create additional $6.95 resellers under them, $8.95 is the lowest they can go.. good luck!

Thanks for all your help/information!

I have decided to avoid that auction, but if I got the offer of a $7.95 reseller acount for $15, would that sound like a good deal to you?

15 bucks for a $7.95 account is not bad i guess... it's much better then the enom retail pricing and you can utilize all the reseller perks... just looked on ebay and there is one ending in 8 mins which is @ $10.45 and another one just listed today with no bids @ $0.99
