I am looking to get a reseller, but ran into a couple problems. First I don't know who to go with. I seen a lot of talk about eNom. Then there is the whole DNForum MyOrderBox thing. Is one of those better than the other? The second problem I run into is the price. If DomainSite.com offers domains for $6.99, what's so great about a reseller for 4 cents off?

DomainSite is the way to go in terms of service and affordability.

Enom $6.95 accounts are still very rare and expensive I believe...

If I paid $190 to save 4 cents per domain, I would need 4750 domain registration to break even. I am thinking DomainSite is a better choice, unless there is some good from having the reseller.

The big advantage of a resellers account is if you sell a name you can create the buyer an account and keep them as a customer for however long they keep the name and in turn earn a little extra that adds up over time. If you don't you're most likely never to hear from them again. If you decide to journey into hosting or whatever you have a reason to contact them. I have several hundred names under mine from doing just that.

it depends on what your plans are for the reseller account. If you intend to use an api, enom's is the most widely supported, you can use their pdq service, or interfaces like awbs.com and modernbill.com. enom hosting useds windows, which you might not like, but enom started from scratch with resellers in mind. don't know much about the other 2.

Another advantage if you attend clubdrop, you save $2 per domain, so only 95 domains to break even...

What is ClubDrop and is it free? That's definitely the way to go, if it is.

That says ClubDrop is free, but I don't see anything about getting $2 off. Is that for $2 off any domain gotten through ClubDrop, so registering an available one doesn't qualify?

Denny means you that normally would pay $8.95 for a club drop registered name
If you have a $6.95 account, you save $2 on each name
$8.95 minus $6.95 =$2

Ohhh...thanks.

I am going to see if I can get something set up to work with DomainSite. I was mainly looking for a reseller to get some cheaper domains. The API was a bonus, and I might end up still going with eNom just for that, but right now, I don't think the $190 is worth spending.

I've now used enom exclusively for several years, love their service and $6.95 is a great price.

I think the $190 is worth it, if you have over 1000 names you can always just get a $6.95 account by transferring them to enom ( well you used to be able to )

Between eNom and iRRRP (idotz) reseller programs, I get 75+ different exts including IDNs starting @ 6.95$

As stated above, depending on your end goal, each one offers variations which may or may not be suitable for your needs.

I've never used DomainSite, but I'd dare say I'd use it before joining DNF's Reseller program - I like to make sure I have good, reliable customer support.

fully agree NostraDomainus .
I tried domainsite to catch some IDN these day, their system is slow, and always lost :(
I have to reg them under my 8.95 enom account, $2 expensive than domainsite. That's not a big problem , domain catched or lost is my focus, not the price.

I dont think Domainsite has a provsion for reselling. I have gone with ResellerClub and although you'll have to pay a deposit for it ($500 for decent prices), you can avoid the fee by signing up though a resellerclub reseller such as mine.
