ENOM Club Drop Auction Glaring Problem

With each bid, 15 minutes is added to the auction clock. I'm in an auction now that's been going on for over 3 hours. The guy I'm bidding against waits 14 minutes and then bids again! :veryangry

lol, guess he thinks he is sniping, but you think he would catch on by now that it is not working.

No, that is what UltSearch does.

It might be someone else, but it's probably Ult. They have monkeys that sit there and wait to bid --whoever holds out the longest (or makes the most outrageous bid) wins. :-(

They should probably shorten the time b/c of snipers.

maybe 5 minute extensions?

amazing. First I read it here, and then it happens to me right ater.
Spend quite abit on the *same* tactics just yesterday!!!
last 30 seconds and +$10. I hoped to send the person a message on the other side, so i did the same a couple of times to make him realize that I am online and for him to see that it is not supposed to be done this ay.
FINALLY, after hours, I got the domain. phewwwwww.
If it wasnt a domain i really really wanted, I wouldnt have kept going at it.
And to think i was only 2 people, me and the other person!
from $20 all the way to a good $XXX figure...
I really wanted the domain though...

P.S.

Also, I saw a price fpor a certain domain having to high of an initial price, so, I left it there without putting a price on it, left it at 2 points, high bid was $400.
What happened?
I am in the auction for it suddenly. That is BAD tactics by enom. So If there are enough people, no matter how high you bid, it goes to auction.
looks like enom is playing pool...

From what I can tell, there is absolutely no point to bidding over the minimum. If even one other person bids on the name, it goes to auction.

I think it depends on how many people are bidding.

If it is less than 3, and the bid $10 and you $30, I figure you probably get it.

If there are more (as an example I'll use 4 or more) then it goes to an auction automatically.
This is easy to test If you have 2 reseller accounts...

I think you are certainly right about enom trying to outplay pool. It goes to auction with the high bid being the starting price, so essentially you have 2 different auctions for the same domain name. Not that it is great for us, but it does make perfect business sense to me. Enom already has a ton of resellers that are in the business and unlike pool you can still pick up domains for $9 on a drop if you are the only one bidding on it.

My understanding is enom will soon release proxy bidding.

I don't like how they give you a small amount of time to transfer a relatively large amount of money (wire) to them.
