I got this email today

Club Drop

A new Club begins on April 1, 2003. The new service is a monthly subscription that gives zero click access to names returning to the available pool from the Redemption Grace Period. The subscription is $99 per month. This fee is exclusive of the domain registration cost. The fee is non-refundable and we do not guarantee results.
To become a member for April, you must indicate your interest by Friday March 13.

Membership

Club Drop is designed to take advantage of domains that expire and are returned to the available pool. Here's how it works. You input a list of names on the members only Club Drop page at www.enom.com. You can input the list up to 1 hour before the drop time. eNom then attempts to register these names on your behalf using our finely tuned registry connections, connections from other registrars, high speed servers, and exclusive Club Drop software.

Please email me your interest today.

I'd give it a whirl, except...

Something disturbing about that start date... :p

Funny though... I guess the high-priced version didn't have enough demand?

Starts on April Fools Day, and you must express interest by Friday the 13th

Sounds funny, because this year, the 13th is Saturday. Are you sure this came from enom?

Hm. The original Club Drop page hasn't been updated or anything, and I haven't seen any links or mention of Club drop on eNom's website. Does seem suspect.

Good Friday the 13th catch, GD.

Could either of your guys post HEADERS (all the routing data and raw information) from the messages (excluding your own e-mail addys of course)? Could help.

DEFINITELY a forgery. May be a test for more down the road, so BE CAREFUL!

Here is a REAL e-mail header from Enom:

Note the absence of the "Return-Path:". As well, the recent mailings I've gotten from the Matt Stearn have been done through Microsoft Exchange and have had a message ID in the header.

Interesting. I got it too, and briefly considered it. I never once suspected anything was fishy with it though.

I gotta become more cynical :)
