As reseller of ENOM, I received an email regarding their reseller update. One of news will hurt other sub-reseller accounts due to controlled account pricing.

Three quick announcements:

1- Functionality to update the IP address of name servers has been added to the
API and soon to the website.

2- A control has been added to sub-account pricing. No accounts can be established
with less than $8.95 per year for .com net org info biz and us.

3- Reporting functionality has been added to the website. Check it out under My eNom.

Wait a darn minute eNom.

I just received the same letter--and I'm still scratching my head.

"No accounts can be established with less than $8.95 per year for .com net org info biz and us."

Unless there is something more to this--it completely changes the entire foundation of their system.

What in the world of holy domains is happening here...

Definitely GoDaddy will take this a big advantage for their sub-reseller account ....

I'm still confuse with ENOM sudden changed. What can we do as reseller .... I guess nothing !

On the brigther side, we can get good market of domain name. But again this is another marketing strategy that need to flourish to our existing sub-reseller. I'm not sure though if my existing sub-reseller will be affected by this changed of pricing scheme. I'll ask my support staff to check this.

I just tried to set up a reseller account - yep, they changed it! I think its because all those people on ebay selling 6.95 accouts for $5 set-up. They were losing profit magin by the truck-load! No one was buying retail!

Oh well.
