Enom does co.uk at last!

about time too!

Though at $5.99/yr seems expensive (123reg is $4 for TWO years)

Maybe I read it wrong and its $5.99 for 2 years ;)

whitelion, everyone here has either reseller or cheap retail accounts. Someone with a $6.95 account could make you as cheap as a $8.14 retail account so you could register domains for far less then the $29 it costs.

Hi

Tried some .co.uk with enom but it wouldn't configure, lots of odbc errors I never saw before with enom when I tried to configure a domain before checking out or a
'results are unknown at this time.' when I check a domain.

Its good to know that even the leading registrars have problems interfacing with Nominet.

If you can tell me how to get a $2/year .co.uk domain from 123reg, I'd sure appreciate it!

As far as I can see their Total price Including VAT
price is £3.04/year which is about us $5. Still cheaper than enom but of course enom has a lot more features, api, etc.

yes, sorry 123reg is £3.04 per year = $4.56 /yr for co.uk

I converted to dollars by dividing by 1.5 instead of multiplying!

yeah
the 2 year nic fee is £5.00 or about $8 or $4/year, depending on the exchange rate.

If and when eNom irons out the .co.uk and .org.uk registration kinks, myl offer of $7.99/yr (PayPal only) registration willt take effect until May 18.

Update:
a. The .xx.uk (eNom) registration system seems to be working on and off...
b. It appears you need a UK address to teg these, and
c. There is a 2 yr registration minimum.

I cannot register one to test because I am physically in the US.

You are right you do not need a UK address! THANK YOU.

The temporary page to register specials is:

http://paypal.24hrNames.com

(.com .net .org .biz .info .us is included in the special (ends May 18)

THANKS AGAIN! :)

Why is it that you can only register .co.uk and org.uk at eNom for only 2 years?

I believe that Nominet require a 2 year initial registration - I know my UK registrar only offers 2 years.

Thanks, web. I tested eNom today with my very first .org.uk buy and after registering the name for the requisite 2 years, I tried to extend the term by one more. The purchase went through then was refunded into my account balance.

Strange ruling really. Even .CN has a 5 year maximum.

Nominet should really consider introducing a 2nd level tld instead of the arcane third level. Things should shake up a bit once the 2tld .eu is introduced.

Havn't you heard of the British "stiff upper-lip" - it's done differently over here. (YAWN)
