On an aside ...

Why do companies often not forward email intended for a departed rep to another available rep? Seems like a no-brainer to me ...

When you work for a company, all email communications are the property of
the company.

However, companies are also sensitive to "personal privacy" issues.

Your comment is very logical.

But, all it takes is some guy in the computer dept saying,
"Oh, Matt is no longer here. Good, I can elliminate his email address."

I do think many companies forward the former employees email to
the person's secretary/administrative Asst. And, that person manages
the acct temporarily.

Companies do not want to "drop the ball" because someone has left the company.

It would be interesting to hear other peoples experience with this type of situation.

I caught a domain which was the name of a very large game company and a legal representative contacted me. He was actually a pretty nice guy and I agreed to accept a transfer request. There was a snag as they were moving all their domains so he asked me to hold on to it for a month. We had communicated through email after his initial call.
Anyway a month went by and I emailed him and no response. Emailed him off and on for about 6 months and I finally called and was told was no longer wih the company. I gave the person my name and number and nevr heard from them.
So I am going to let the name drop next month. Their loss for not forwarding or at least checking the subject of he emails I had sent.

[email protected] type emails are usually deleted, or an auto responder tells you who to contact.

I think it turns out Matt had ethics, which didn't fit into Enom's business plan.

I didn't hear that he left, maybe he just closed an email address due to spam. He had two, [email protected], [email protected].

Giant,

I had both email addresses in my address book.

I used the first one. When, that bounced, I used the second one.

That is what convinced me that something serious was happening.

I'm really sorry to hear that he is not there. He seemed to be
good for Enom.

I hope the next guy is as good or better in the position as Matt.

And, YES. The person in that position can "temporarily" effect our business.

Yes Matt has been gone for a couple of weeks at least (that is when we were told) and there is a new fellow as VP of Sales. They have yet to publish this, I think. Steve
