I have spoke with a few eNom resellers that wanted to sell the RGP domains in their accounts. I was thinking of starting a website that allows all eNom resellers to push their names to an account and offer all RGP domains for sale. Good idea or bad? Why do you say so?

Enom's extended RGP domains are a sign of how greedy registrars have become. Despite the removal of "extended RGP" status at the parking pages, Enom does not remove a domain deemed valuable (due to traffic or otherwise). In effect, it's like a gray market: domains in RGP can be bought at a premium price.

Although I am in total agreenment with your statement that many registrars have become greedy, I am a little unclear as to whether you feel the idea is a good one. Care to comment?

I'm not sure if it's technically possible to push domains in RGP mode to any other account. All you can do is pay the hefty $160 fee to renew them.

It is indeed possible to push domain names into another account even though they are in redemption grace period as I have done it. I think this concept would work very well specifically for those who understand the value of these names.

users can sell the names themselves, above the cost of $160.00, so why would they need your service?

I recall a backdoor that reseller accounts could use to push such expired domains, using the bulk push method instead of individually. But that was patched a while ago. Are you able to do this currently? I have a reseller account and I am not aware of such capability.

its funny cause enom doesn't owe money to the registry other than the $6.25 renewal fee. They are collecting all that RGP money themselves. bastards

Yeah, but remember that they give 4 weeks of grace period AFTER a domain expires to renew at regular price.

The reason eNom gives the registrant or reseller the ability to renew a domain 4 weeks after a domain name expires, is so that they can have the opportunity to evaluate whether or not the domain is worth them taking. They send the traffic to a landing page that enables them to determine the value of it.

As far as what value would be offered by a site that allows resellers to sell RGP domains, it is all about volume. We all know that the more people who are aware of a service, the more chances that the service will be used (as long as it creates value). The value to potential domain purchasers is evident in that they will have access to domains that they never would have otherwise as well as one place to go to find them. It would be highly impractical to go to each of the thousands of resellers and ask them to sell their RGP domains(besides the fact that there would be no standardized pricing offered by each of them).

The value offered to resellers is that all they need to do is to push their domains to the eNom sub-account "RGP", and we would market the service to the public through an agressive advertising campaign. A standardized fee would be paid to each reseller whose name is sold and this would require no effort or thought on their part other than the collection of the commission generated.

I have set up the enom reseller account named "RGP". I have also got a list of a couple hundred RGP domains that will be offered under this service. There will be no filtering or skimming of the domain names before offered to the public. I may list them here until I can get the website built and operational. All domains will be sold for $250 to start. $50 of profit will go directly to the reseller of the RGP domain and 100% the other $40 will go to advertising the site.

Beofre pushing domain names to the account "RGP", please use the bulk list push method and push contact info to the new account so that we may record where to send Paypal payments to. All Paypal payments will be sent to the email address of the technical contact.

Any questions would be welcomed.
