Hi guys,
Got a quick question. I'm planning on doing a deal just over 5k in value and was going to go through Escrow.com. I need to pay by credit card/PayPal. Can Escrow still take CC/PP for transactions of this size?

Many thanks!

No. They'll do wire.

No deals with CC over $5k I believe. They lose a ton of business with this restriction. I've had deals fall through because the buyer wanted to use CC, but escrow doesn't allow this payment option.

If the buyer really wanted the domain, they would of done a wire.... Perhaps some of the deals that fell through for you were actually Scams, is that possible? You cant blame Escrow.com for the restriction, their simply protecting themselves against CC fraud.

Raider is spot on: Credit cards only open the door for chargebacks, stolen cards and more.

Very true Raider. You do have a point. I just think Escrow should have more than 1 option to pay besides bank wires to give both the buer and the seller options when conducting deals.

Your right, the only option for transactions over 5K is Bank Wire... I dont know what other method of payment they could use without it being reversed... Checks would be subject to hold until it clears, Money Orders/Bank Drafts can be cancelled and Cashiers checks can be cancelled in cases of loss or theft.

Anyone know why you can't use PayPal with Escrow.com unless both parties are in the US, including when both are verified? That would make it a lot easier for Escrow.com-averse sellers overseas to receive payment when you're trying to buy from them.
