Are there any threads on this whether .eu names are worth it or not? Will they be as valuable as .com, or .net?

Is it worth it for me to try to go with the domain catchers and try to grab some .eu names? Will they be a good domain to have, or will they be like .tk or .be? (no offense, I own some .be and .tk names, too)

Thanks Carol

.eu are expected to be the queen of domains. .com being the king

I believe we will see fully functional .eu sites advertised on various media within six months. Christmas we should see more again. However, most of the eu sites will probably be parked sites for two to three years.

Just my 2 cents.....or 20 Euros ;-)

It is a gamble as no one can say for sure what the future holds so best thing is to only spend money that you can afford to loose.

You'd be wise to look to veterans for advice, if they are Exclusive, then great, but Exclusive itself is just a purchase...

i would have to agree with some of what everybody says here, whether it's buy or not buy

plenty of reasons for both

if you're looking for type-in traffic right away... then unfortunately, it is not going to happen

not that i thought it would.. but you sort of hope somehow it might

i got a .eu domain, that it's .com equivalent gets a good amount of type-ins on overture
with the .com ending, as example - thename.com - a generic word related to music

i got it going yesterday morning, hoping maybe something would happen as far as type-ins go

so far i'm the only one going to the page

.eu though, is probably the last big extension that's going to happen, unless - xxx - comes about
and i don't think it ever will, too much opposition from a growing number of countries

and it's europe - which is nice

for public recognition and to get people typing the ending into their browsers instinctively
there has to be a gigantic advertising blitz, tv, billboards, magazine ads, and alot of them

as far as .eu being used by those in the united sates, there is no reason why united states
internet users could not be enticed to type-in .eu domain names to their browser,
if they domain extension is marketed to the united states just as it should be in europe.

Buy at the lowest reg rates if you can find anything of value left. With these many regs taken (and most decent names under sunrise) there isn't much left of real value. Most of what you see listed on the threads here are pure garbage and a waste of money and time. Take some of the names listed and do a little homework with stats on the keyword terms. Check Google pages with the terms in quotes, check the Overture search numbers each month, check the KEI ratios, check how many ad campaigns there are and what the bids are for the terms by yahoo or google etc. In fact run some of these names caught by others thru those same stats and you see what kindof junk people are regging now. A shame and a waste of money.

In the first .com boom and bust they forgot to ask if there were enough customers to support all these new business ventures. Even sites with good traffic forgot to think about how they were going to turn it into money.

I think the .eu speculation is again leaving the customer out of the equation. How long will they keep returning to an extension that is full of parked pages, "coming soon" and "for sale" signs? I think the speculators will do great damage early on to the extension.

I guess not much can be said about .eu at this moment. We should really wait for a year more or so before we can actually predict about .eu market.
