Okay, just got this on their website:

* Texas residents add 8.25% sales tax.
So ... the rest of us shall be paying $6.49 from now on ... or $6.95 very soon?

Now ... will I get a refund for those 8.25% paid? Or shall we file a class action lawsuit? LOL!

Good question. I paid tax on hundreds of domains there even though as a Florida resident I should not have been taxed as they have no physical presence in this state (the guideline on whether or not you are to collect tax on internet sales). I would be very willing to bet that the "taxes" collected from me were never remitted to any government taxing agency, which could lead to big trouble for them if someone wanted to press the point.

Is that for domains or hosting servers?

I'm referring to their domain registration. I haven't used their servers and don't know if tax has ever been applied.

I thought when questioned on WHT a employee/headsurfer replied that their accountant said they had to. Or something along those lines.

Anyways, with more and more money being spent online, isn't it a matter of time before a online tax is applied?

CONFIRMED. Just transferred a domain over, and was charged only $6.49 as opposed to $7.03 less than 24 hours ago. I'm not 100% sure, but if any of you want to take advantage of this, you'd better hurry: I suspect they will be raising it to $6.95 very soon. ;)
