.CC is the Cocos Islands country code. No one talks about it because it is not worth wasting your breath (or money) on it.

i wouldnt mind having creditcard.cc or sex.cc, both of which are far superior to closecaptioned.cc

cc is a big waste of time though.

actually i would prefer closedcaptioned.cc because it relates directly to the extension. would be great for selling videos. Every movie has a little box on the cover that says cc.

To me both are fairly meaningless, unless you just want a short name for much less than the cost of a com/net/org/info/biz for personal use. At least the big 5 have real meanings. cc and ws are just unknown country codes that are priced to high. cc means nothing to anyone, and no one really buys the idea that ws stands for website instead of western samoa. maybe okay for a low value personal site, but what company wants to associate themselves with a small island? It kind of makes the statement that "I was so late to get on the internet bandwagon that I had to take some other country's meaningless domain TLD that they didn't want". with all the other meaningless 2 letters coming on board like bz, sc, ec, and maybe even eu.

Never owned one, never will.

I live in Contra Costa, maybe it could have some local alternative meaning. ;)

I wonder how much difference actually extension makes.
If you are to develop a site and all good names are not available
why not pick such an extension for a nice name?
Do any search engine have bias toward more popular extensions?

.eu will be as popular in europe as .us is in america i think.

I personally prefer any extension that is said in one syllable i.e. com, net, biz, org (and at a stretch .info)

it complicates things when you have to say the letters themselves

i.e. .cc (see see) .ws (doubleyoo ess)

blurgh :p

I am one of those fringe domainers that regged/owns a few .ws domains. Engines dont care what ya got as far as extentions go. Develop a great site with lots of content, links and you should do well regardless of the .ext

Scripts.ws
VideoGame.ws

as far as i'm concerned there is only one .cc that is worth chasing and it is taken

Personally, I went for and got casino-casino.cc, but I'd be willing to part with it for a good offer.

Cheers!

I didn't know everyone was talking about .WS
 9 out of 10 people consider ws and cc worthless. The 1 out of 10 are just defending their names.
