It's been a while since I picked up a $10 name, just the cost of the registration. Any thoughts?

Worth the reg fee, but not much more IMO.

Good job, George!! :)
Double-check Whois to be sure you secured it ... my Whois here shows it a little f-u-n-k-y at this time!? I had heard this was dropping, and I couldn't be happier to see this post and to find out you got it! :)
"Excellent"! Now I'm just waiting to see the new site.
Good Luck and Happy New Year.

PS. "WickedNames.com" was another in this batch ... and subsequently gobbled up on 12.22.02. Yours is much better! :)
Good Luck.

Excellent. It's worth more than your reg fee.

George,

How come a pro like yourself is paying as much as $10
for registrations.

Harry: I like OpenSRS best, as they're based in Toronto (where I live), and have great support.

Dotster and eNom are my next favourites, and are slightly less expensive. If they were in Canada, that might have swung the balance in their favour... Parava.net is pretty good too (home of NicGenie).

If we can get Verisign to reduce the $6 wholesale cost (via agreements with ICANN, etc.), that's where the big savings would be, instead of switching registrars to someone else. I think most of us would rather pay our registrars a *fair* price, leaving room for a profit, so that they can support us well, instead of paying Verisign a tax for every name, which goes to schmoozing with politicians to keep a stranglehold on their abusive monopoly.

Yes, name is good but not excellent IMO.
Very closed market puts some limits on it.
In any case not wasted money.
