I had a snap on a domain and this is the current info on the whois

Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK
Status: REGISTRAR-HOLD
Updated Date: 11-mar-2003
Expiration Date: 05-mar-2004

Does this mean that the domain was locked and still went into expiration?

Will the lock cause the release of the domain to be longer than normal?

Hopefully these guys changed their email address, got a new phone number, and moved :p

I think this will be a nice catch, IF ............. :p
Thanks.

The domain expires in 2004 (unless that's your snap exiration).

did you run the name at internic whois or reg whois

try both

the reg hold and reg lock are really the same status except that in reg hold it will not be in the zone

it could actually drop but still a long way off as it went on hold if on hold on the 11th and has up to 45 days to go to redemption.

and then to pending dele

without knowing the name can only specualte but dont think i would be quick to pull the snap until at least 45 days out from the update date of mar 11th

could be wrong as there is some werid stuff happening with some names

good luck

Is it just different whois checks from different services shows different results.

For example:

SnapNames shows this snapback as:

Status REGISTRAR-LOCK,
REGISTRAR-HOLD
Updated Date 2003-03-11
Record created on Mar 5 2001.
Record expires on Mar 5 2003.

Yet My Domain Name Analyzer Program Shows:

Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK
Status: REGISTRAR-HOLD
Updated Date: 11-mar-2003
Creation Date: 05-mar-2001
Expiration Date: 05-mar-2004

Does anyone know the reasoning for this?
