I just barely purchased this, and would love to hear you're feedback on the name. Yeah, It would have been better with an (s) at the end, but this still works quite well I believe.

Any comments are appreciated!

Just over 1000 searches each month for "extreme sport" so not bad. Over 100 searches each day for the term. Like you said, better with the "s". There already is an Alexa rank and some traffic so I'm assuming it used to a be a website. IMHO, I would appraise it at low to mid low xxxx.

i actually bid on this a few times in past
should have bought time back for about $2k as well worth that

develop it and find an enduser you'll get 10 times that.
guessing you paid 2-3k ish

a nice buy and a nice old domain
needs developing really
reseller 3-5k

With the growth in popularity of extreme sport/s this is sure to be a winner.

Probably $2.5k - $5k, but to an end user such as a sports supply shop much higher. Though development is probably the best option and will be the most lucrative.

Thanks NameFox, Predator, and Billbo!

As far as what I paid: Lets just say his price went up. This wasn't a "steal" purchase unfortunately. I did buy for development only.

There does appear to have been a developed site, though nothing special judging from the looks. The previous owner told me he was getting "thousands" of hits a week, which is probably why he was asking for more.

Giode, with development you can do 'very well' with this domain, but then again you know that I am sure otherwise you would not have bought it!

All the best. Let us know when it is up and running.

low to mid $xxxx I like the name because it's broad enough to be a portal for various extreme sports.

Billbo: Really appreciate the detailed feedback! I do see what you see, in terms of development potential. I told someone recently that there are names you buy with the intent to "flip", while there are other names you are far better off developing. This is one of those names I plan to hold and eventually develop.

I was talking with the owner of Supercross.com recently, and was telling me how he recently declined a 7.5 million dollar offer for the site. Lot of money in the Extreme Sports industry.

low to mid $xxxx I like the name because it's broad enough to be a portal for various extreme sports.

Thanks dcristo!

Giode, the problem I see with developing this name is that a lot of traffic will bleed out to ExtremeSports.com, since thats how people usually refer to it as.

But even otherwise, this is a nice mid-high x,xxx name here.

True. I would hope search engine listings would put me near the top for the "Extreme Sports" category. Even though I know you are right, it still probably wouldn't deter me from development. This is still one of two names defining this industry (albeit the lesser of the two).

Thanks for the appraisal Sashas!

I like the name, and would also appraise it somewhere in the mid $x,xxx region. To echo most of the above posters, i'd also suggest developing, so good luck with that :)

In regards to supercross.com getting a 7.5M dollar offer, based on a quick research i highly doubt that -- I could be wrong, of course. In any event, good luck with the site. You should update this thread when the site is launched

Thanks for the input Keyboard Cowboy.

Normally, I probably wouldn't put a lot of stock in someone saying they were offered 7.5 million for a rather new website either. I think this may be true though. Just because the guy who told me is credible, and runs a network of websites like Wellness .com, and a few other high Alexa ranking sites. He is also an MLM legend of sorts, creating an MLM that made him a millionaire overnight, called "Dead Doctors Don't Lie". I think he was only like 24 when he did this.

Who knows for sure?

You're welcome.

And true, who really knows. If he does indeed run wellness.com as well, he probably is somewhat trustworthy. I would, on the other hand, prolly have taken the $7.5M for a 160k alexa ranked site - PR6 or not ;)

What did the owners of ExtremeSports.com offer? They woud be the ones to benefit the most from the domain. Undeveloped that is.
