Anyone else get annoyed by the declining of your category selection? I have an adult domain with 500 links and no real keywording and they decline it for adult and tell me to point it at a reference category totally unrelated to the incomming links.

This is just one example of many over the past few months that I moved from fabulous parking to somewhere else because of this.

Yeah I find it quite annoying especially when you can get more money from other sponsors.....the absense of a search box is a major loss in revenue because most people will enter a search to find what they are looking for rather than click tiny links or really *hitty sponsors. One trick is to find a domain that is already optimized with what you want it to be then simply URL forward the domain over then they can't deny it and you still capitalize on the traffic. I'm not sure if Fabulous manually approves domains or if they do it with some computer program, but it is rather annoying nonetheless. However, I can see why they do it since certain sponsors don't want to pay for traffic which doesn't relate.

Hi Jolthost,

We have a specific policy at Fabulous to not allow adult links to be shown on a domain that is not descriptively adult in nature. ie; If the phrase that makes up the domain contains no specifically adult related words, then it should not go to adult links.

What if a child types in the domain? If it is not adult in nature, should there be adult links allowed on the page?

Our primary focus is on type-in and meta search engine traffic. We do sometimes accept targeted link traffic to parked domains but as rule this type of traffic is not of the best quality and does not convert as well for advertisers, meaning they will not bid as highly for the clicks.

Feel free to contact me to discuss your specific example or any other questions you might have.

Cheers

They do seem a little overzealous at times with the denials. I have had them optimize for me, and then they rejected some of their own optimizations !

Thanks for the welcomes. :)

Anyone that has an issue with a redirection request being denied at Fabulous, please feel free to contact me personally.

Our customer care staff do the quality assurance on all domain redirections, and being human like the rest of us, they can sometimes make mistakes....

Something domain owners should understand is that Fabulous.com is somewhat unique in the domain parking ppc industry, because we have our own advertiser network and do not act purely as an intermediary between domain owners and a ppc provider. This means we have closer relationships with the advertisers that pay for your domain traffic and we try very hard to keep these advertisers happy with targeted traffic. Most domain parking providers never have to deal directly with the advertiser that actually pays for their traffic, and do not get as much quality feedback about the clicks in their network.

On the flipside, if the advertisers are happy with the traffic they receive, they bid higher for that traffic, and everyone makes more money! As evidenced by Fabulous having the best gambling traffic on the web & the highest gambling bid prices.

Anyway, just thought I'd give some background to the reasoning behind our redirection approval process that some people may see as being tough sometimes.

(Warning do not type in the domain refered in this subject.) I understand your standing but a domain such as studroom.com (Don't check it! this isn't the domain I'm refering to ) I went to change the category to somthing without all the popups and shouldn't be classified a casino category which you suggested over an adult category when thats where the traffic comes from.

I do agree with others and welcome your presence here but at the same time I pick up names for the particular type of traffic and would prefer to park them at the same place rather than have them all over. I will add that this usually happens with adult related domains. These adult advertisers should know that those seeking such reach the same thing at every door. Changing their ways of capturing that traffic would be a better route.

I'm going to add one more question. Am I getting paid off of those 100's of popups that lock up my computer when that name is typed or reached by whatever means?

One problem I have is that the popups at fabulous come up within a browser window with a URL locator box showing and it's very often times not sized properly so you can't really even read anything on it unless you adjust the box.

I guess Fabulous approve the domain manually.

Well, i move some of my domains away from fabulous because they deny my very targeted traffic domains which i earn alot at other ppc and none at fabulous due to wrong categorisation at fabulous which i am not able to change.

Some reasons they give are the domain name does not match the traffic or category, domain having foreign traffic (i think they consider european traffic as foreign too)

For normal US traffic and normal names that match the traffic, it could be nice to park at fabulous. But now i wont risk to move my good traffic domains to fabulous....in case same thing happen again and i loses those revenue...

Hi,

I want to clear up something.

Q: What % of total parking earnings will the domain owners get at Fabulous?

We have 1300 domains in our parking portfolio, and what % you think Fabulous will pay for this big portfolio of domains?

Thanks,

Wow a lot of questions...

Here goes -

Jolthost - I will reply to you via email as the answer is quite long and I will suggest some things to do with your domain.

NeonHQ/Skylight - You can always feel free to contact me if you have issues with the customer care redirection recommendations. We do not charge advertisers for most asian traffic, but western european is fine. It is tough to find advertisers willing to pay for asian traffic....

Rick - There are two levels of revenue share - 50% if you elect to set up the domains yourself, or 75% if we do it for you.

Clemsonguy- you are able to choose the size of the pop-unders etc on each domain within your account. It sounds like yours are set to 'normal', when they should be set to 'console'.
