It would be very hard to enforce considering "face" is a generic term and a picture site could fit into that (what are most pictures of? People's faces).

If they do go after them I'll call it reverse hijacking.

I agree, but it seems it's exactly what they are trying to do. The news mentions that it could be to get it before Apple does it, with its "FaceTime".

Vizi Labs Inc is the domain owner. It appears Mr. Berryhill provides a service to hold and manage domains. Probably a (smart) defensive tactic by the domain owners, letting Facebook know they are ready and prepared for a legal battle over the domain.

Face book is primarily shooting for a TM to protect the word FACE as part of a site or a social network site.

In other words, they do not want another knock off to pop up using the word FACE as part of a competing network or site.

is a brilliant domain and a briliant site
owned by a dnf member
he got appraised here few years back, i love what he has done with it. sheer brilliance imho

what doesn't help him, this shouldn't matter but lawyers will try to use fact that he mentions fb a few times on homepage and everyone used the fb like button , and searches on fb etc. i would have tried to distance myself from them and not referred to them or used like buttons or anything
ridiculous how fb have this braod term for face in anything tech related

one other thing, if member is reading, for christs sake get a privacy page, terms and conditions, sitemap etc
are you nuts? basics
cover yourself also, not with fb, but your users

good luck, fantastic name and site imho
love it!

also i would lose the refernce to 'fb' in the meta description
http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search;_...ce.com&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-702

nice work on the subdomains though also. alexa of 35k, rockin

may FB buy also Book.com? ... and ... can FB want a TM on both words?

HECK why not just TM the vowels a e i o and claim every word that uses them, anyone using those vowels will be sued...lol

who'd complain? they left the u and y. :yo:

totally crazy and out of control.
