I posted the following question in Jan of 07 in the Platinum Forum thinking that everyone could read it, however, I discovered that is not the case. Here was my question:

How much should I ask?

I have a site that was created in 04, lots of natural backlinks, designed by myself, all unique content, generates about $150-200 per day in adsense, how much should I ask?

What factors do you take into consideration on this?

The idea of selling it is just that, just an idea.

Thanks!

I'd appreciate any information or pointing me towards to right thread / post.

daily revenue, X's 10 years = minimum offer + whatever costs you want to recover.

Thanks for that information, but 10 years? That's way out there, don't you think? Do people really get that?

Most people sell traffic sites for 1-3 years revenue. Usually on the lower end.

If the revenue is more consitant you will see it fetch around the 3 year mark.

Solid websites with a lengthy earning record can sale for 24 - 36 months revenue, but only if you're extremely lucky. Fact is there is so much crap out there for sale, it's driven the market down to a 12 months revenue benchmark. Just try listing a website over at the ubershi-tt-y crap filled/crappy administered/sorry excuse for a forum Site--Point, and you'll get lynched for asking 13 months revenue for a site by all the festering a-holes that dwell there.

i've sold domains only, for more than 10 years rev.

so, if you have a viable website that generates what you claim, you'd be foolish to sell for 1-3 years revenue imo.

I've seen one analogy that calculates the value of the traffic (i.e. if you had to buy it) so for example if in that industry a click is worth 15 cents, then multiply it by the yearly visitors, etc.
