What are some of your favorite ftp programs?

For Windows, there is no better FTP client than FlashFXP. Get the 30-day trial and see for yourself (you can still use it after the 30-day trial, but it takes longer to load). FlashFXP also supports 'FXP', which allows for transfer between FTP <-> FTP (if the ftp server supports it).

I don't think it's supported anymore but my all time favorite over the years was Leech FTP. It was so simple to use when I started out that I've always stuck with it.

Internet Explorer is good for small sites

Just enter ftp://username:[email protected] instead of http://www,yoursite.info
Then then drag and drop / copy and paste to the window

To save having to type the ftp, username, password & url

Create a Network connection in MY Network Places
Open a window by clicking on the link and then drag and drop / copy and paste etc

Leech is good because it connects better to some servers - passive ftp etc.

Bulletproof Client is good too, though ftp is pretty "old" now so most ftp software is fully debugged and stable.

Bulletproof Server is good/stable too at the other end if your running your own server

WinSCP. (It's free.)
I don't use unencrypted FTP, for security reasons.

And yes filezilla is a free version that gets regular updates and is a great alternative.
