FB "Likes" for websites not appearing in friend's overall news feed?

Hi all, just very recently I added the fb "like" button to my website as part of my plan to make it a little viral when friends of the "liker" gets to also see my website on their news feed.

That's what I thought, but when I tested out with my friend's and my FB account and tested liking the site, the "XXX likes a link" post only appears in the liker's wall but doesn't show up in the liker's friend news feed.

Can I check with you guys whether it's a problem with my own FB settings or is it meant to be this way?
(Is there a way to make "like" also something like "sharing")?

It's actually pretty random - you have to wait a few days sometimes.

I have many fanpages, and often times it takes time for it to show on my activity feed.

Keep trying, you'll eventually see it.
