Much like the actress who didn't make girlfriend in Back to the Future part II, I'm betting the owner held out for too much moolah.

Maybe like "TheMatrix.com" he/she's crossing his fingers that they'll be wildly successful and come back with some juicy offer. 'Course, I think the movie would be more successful if they had the domain... :)

Interesting sounding movie, lol.

WarnerBros has owned the domain feardotcom.com since 1990, and a person in South Korea has owned feardot.com for a year. But in the WB official movie site, they get confused. Here's some snippets, lol:

>>...to find the answers behind the mysterious deaths of four people who each died 48 hours after logging on to the Internet site Feardotcom.com...

>>you'll be logged on to the internet site feardot.com

>>Each died exactly 48 hours after logging on to feardot.com

Somebody better teach WarnerBros about dots, or better still, they should have bought the generic fear.com, lol

I don't plan on seeing the movie, but I have to admit that the website creeped me the HELL out. Nothing like browsing a Myst-like Flash site with a little count-down telling you how long YOU have to live. After a while, I couldn't even pay attention to the website, I just kept staring at the counter and getting the heebee-geebees. PASS!

Anyway, J. Michael Straczynski has an amazing series on SciFi.com's Seeing Ear Theatre. Episode 5 is called "Night Calls", and involves a rather twisted and intriguing story that is more than it appears. Features Tim Curry and some Internet-related turns one might not expect.

Thanks for the correction Miles - 2000 is what I meant to write. No wonder I miss the best drop times, I'm always 10 years behind, lol

So you type in a domain in your browser and then you die within 48 hours?

Anyone care to appraise the domain in question?

If the killer domain is a .com it is worth more than say a .net or maybe a .us?

I was gonna buy MatrixReloaded.com and TheMatrixReloaded.com
a while back when I found out the movie is in the making.

Matrix Reloaded is the name of the new "The Matrix" movie which
should be out within half a year or so.

He wanted $5k, then went down to $1.3k and I declined
his offer.

Check what he's using it for and tell me its not a waste.

You type in the .com and you die. Maybe if you visit the domain with .ws extension you just get a bad rash?
