Feedback needed on design - Social networking site

Hi All,

Please could I get some feedback on these designs.

I am happy with the log in page but would like some feedback on the dashboard.

Homepage looks sweet!

Dash is purple overload, makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Just my opinion.

Yes I agree there is too much purple on the dash board.

Would you change any of the layout on the dashboard?

Hey James - Login looks great, and agree with Sparty on Purple overload. On layout... I'm just not sure I understand what all of this is supposed to be, so it's hard to comment as I don't understand the full purpose. But, I think on the right side, the icon/text area could be a bit smaller and/or slightly drawn up to eliminate any deal space.

My only other comment... well, I guess question - why did Tim lie? I never understood why he always had to be such a jerk.

front page is fine, dashboard has to much purple as mention - try to use mute colours as the pictures should be the focus point. not to sure about the name Tim Lie - what does that mean?
maybe invest in another name.

thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it.

Yes I agree with both of you on the purple overload I will mix it up like with the log in page.

I need to play around with the right side.

Basically Timlie is just a derivative/brandable of Timeline.

The site is going to be a photo based social networking site that maps out your life through photos.

Essentially a mix of Facebook and Tumblr.

It will be from Pre birth (Baby scans and Baby bump pics) all the way to present. It will also include a vision board for users to upload photos of their future goals (houses, cars, holidays etc)

It will have a world map feature so you click on a certain country and all your photos come up in date order from that country.

Also you have the family tree feature which is self explanatory.

Any advice feedback is always appreciated.

My two cents on the domain... I picked up on Timlie being a shorter/brandable version of Timeline. And I assume it would pronounced like Tim-lee, not tim-lie technically.

Sounds like it's a cool idea though... sounds like quite a bit of work to put it all together too, lol

Yes it is pronounced Tim-Lee.

I am trying to get Timly.com but guy wants $12.5k which is stupid.

Quite happy with my $8 Timlie.com and its all about the service and content just like Google, Tumblr etc.

Good luck with the person that has the domain then. I think it can work with TimLie.... as you said, the content can make it all irrelevant. There are a lot of other strangely named companies out there anyway.

Design is ok. I would be more concerned about the functionality. Design is details...any half-decent designer can make a pretty page for you.

I have seen great sites with poor design and poor sites with great design.

How is the site going?
