Is there anything special with this name ?
Even fiber.co has little value imo.

might be... or not. fibr could very well cover an array of subjects related to healthy eating, fiber rich foods, fiber diet, weight loss programs. imo

This would be a branding nightmare, this one will not pass the radio test and advertising will be problematic I think.

"Visit our website at fibr dot co !"

Customer #1:

You mean dot com right ?
No it's dot co.
What is dot co ?
TLD for Colombia
You are a Colombian company ?
No, proudly American.
Is this a typo on your business card ? The URL is fiber dot co then, is that right ?
No, it's fib-rrrrrrrr dot co.

Customer #2:
<repeat>

Pick a few random people and do the test :)

"According to a research study conducted by Penn, Schoen and Berland in 2009, out of 600 past and prospective domain registrants in the USA, more than 75% of respondents associated .CO with company, corporation, or other commercial endeavors."

regarding the branding of Fibr: I don't see how that could be an issue nowadays, especially when we have precedents like tumblr and the likes. in the '90 yes, but today the costumer is schooled enough and actually feels more attracted about this kinds of brands where the spelling/ pronunciation is slightly different, altered but still intuitive.imo

Flickr had to buy flicker.com because of the confusion and they must have been losing huge traffic, delici.o.us whatever had to upgrade to delicious.com and there are plenty of such examples.
All that in spite of their huge popularity and marketing efforts. At least flickr was in .com.
But your domain is twice confusing: both to the left and the right of the dot.

That being said, you can always imagine that somebody would be brave enough to try a bold branding experiment.
That is, if the name was available for regfee. That isn't the case, you are expecting that somebody will pay you significantly more.

You really need somebody who will fall in love with the domain AND the extension. Now is that likely to happen ?

Cheers :)
