Have a few first name sites in my portfolio (like bobs.us and jims.us), but they don't seem to drum up much interest. Have any of you had luck with first name dns???

George.com is listed at $100,000 at GreatDomains. Too $$$ for me, sadly.

"George.com is listed at $100,000 at GreatDomains."

I saw that, George. I even meant to write you about it. You HAVE to find a way to obtain it IMO. Will they negotiate?? Have you e-mailed them? Will they take U.S. $$ and a DNF Bucks' combination! ;)

I like the idea of 'personal names in the ".US", actually. This is one area where I do very much think the .US can be fully appreciated. However, in the examples you've provided, the names are pluralized ... which, to me, seriosuly affects their valuations! Sorry.
Good Luck.

I was able to get my last name in a .US. I received an offer for $2,500 from an insurance agency and turned it down.

Yes, "Who.US" is a good domain, DrWho! ;)

Well you all know I've got a-n-n-e.com (my gf)

I also managed to buy chennin.com for $6.69. There are at least 2 porn stars with Chennin as a Christian name.

I own ohno.biz and motohisa.com :)
And I bought my wife's name .net for $1000+.

By the way, I have a popular first name .net domain.
I'm interested in what opportunity is there.
For example, how much do you appraise "george.net" ?

Update: I just registered a very dear friend's ".US" personal domain name!! Example is "JaneSmith.US" ... and even got their e-mail, too ... Example is "[email protected]".
Can you believe it?? You guys twisted my arm (though I always liked the idea of the .US for "personal" names) and I finally registered an ".US". Wow. Where's 'Earl, 'Heat, 'Berry, etc?? ;)
Good Luck.

I was able to get my last name under .us, it's one of the names I'm happiest about, as it will be with my family forever. I just recently also got names of my wife and kids, firstnamelastname under .us.

All first names put in for were lost on .us opening day. Must have been very popular.

These past holidays, I regged the names of some friends, and gave them a certificate saying they owned their .us name. A page was put up saying Home Of ......., so it resolved right away. They went wild. Like they had been given a winning lottery ticket. People are intimidated by the 'net. Having your very own spot there makes it feel more like home.
