First Names .com Names

Can anyone tell me how to value first names? How are they viewed by the market? What can a name like steven.com be flipped for? Just an example...

There is value with all of these names, sort of like geographical, however that being said I think your going to find the end user will not pay for his/her name. They don't understand the value of domain names and the traffic might be light. So, unless Steve represents a service or company it might not fetch the right amount in todays market. I expect that will change. If you have Paul.com I would pay 1 Mil of Acroplex's money right now for it. LOL. Best wishes.

The only recent sale i saw was Gary.com
went quoite cheap if i remeber $30k ish I may be wrong

With a really popular name like steven, there has to be millions of people with that name, that's a lot of potential buyers

I'd have to disagree. There are plenty of celebrities who go by first name only: Madonna, Jewel, etc. There's a market for first name .coms. Just have to find the right buyer.

Nice post BidNo, pretty much covers things. I have 2 large first name's traded this year. But private and very premium. Common first names like Steve to Eric etc are $20k plus now imo, much more to that enduser.

I'm not sure if *she* owns the domain, maybe someone who represents her but not entirely sure if she bought it/controls it. She mentioned the domain once on TV.

Yes, it might be awhile for celebs to realize value in a website/domain itself. More are figuring out you can keep fans updated easier, faster and cheaper. It's a mass viral marketing tool.
