any idea how i can get rid of this - because I have it ?

I Just removed it in Add remove programmes

- but how would it get there ?

I wonder if it comes with New.net plugin ?

I got that ducking thing too, so one day I followed the link and clicked the option to disable it, which worked.

It's still on my system - don't know how or where, but it doesn't POP anymore.

Cydoor is the scumware/spyware that comes bundled with Kazaa, Opera and some other popular freeware software. Most of the free mp3 software programs out there have some kind of scumware/spyware bundled with it.

I don't get those automatic installs any more, because I changed my security settings to get prompted about them.

Tools | Internet Options | Security | Custom | fiddle around with the ActiveX stuff... I can't remember which one it was. One of them will prompt you if a page has flash, but another one starts prompting you for Xupiter and those Register.com progs.
