Spectre, that news is about 18 months old, which I expect you'll be pleased to hear.

The bad news is that the 'Flash Lite' implementation still leaves a lot to be desired. FLV and SWF streaming is as yet unsupported, as are most of the more important features of Flash which work on PC browsers.

Programmers will probably make interesting Flash apps. for local clients, but the access to web features is relatively poor.

Still, progress can only be forward.

I was already aware of the existence of mobile flash abroad and in the works, but this article talks about the first widespread US debut of flash-lite. Debuting and signing a deal are way different things. I am very excited because I have been visiting mobi sites and they need a little spicing up! This article also focuses how they are integrating the flash into each application on your phone instead of your mobile browser. You wil be able to download a flash game and play! Not streaming! Here in the US for some reason we get cellphone tech last! All I can say is check out this video, flash-lite for mobiles looks pretty damn good to me! I think these flash games look great!

I design and develop Flash lite applications here in Tokyo. We have been uploading Flash Lite 1.1 on the official websites of our carriers in japan for about 2 years.
Just last week, Flash Lite 2.0 came out on the KDDI AU phones. I was hoping for AS2, but now it only has AS1. Seems to export better as Flash 5, 6, and 7 instead of the FL 2.
We cant use the "left" key and only downloads up to 100Kb on the phones so games are really not a big hit here. maybe later.
If any of you have questions or suggestions, please feel free to chat with me!

I don't wanna burst your bubble but flash requires a good processor and at this point mobile phones do not use too much processing power. My treo 700wx has a 320MHz processor and I downloaded Flash media player 7 and it's not enough to watch youtube's flv nor any other flash animations.

You didnt burst it. already was burst.
We dont make games. not enough power. But for screensavers it works as long as their arent too many MC in the app.
Processors in Japan are getting better. little by little......

Flash games on cellphones is nothing new. However, what does this have to do with .mobi? Is there any reason other than to promote the domains you listed?
